The speech that Mr. Kunalan made was very humorous and lively. I am deeply inspired by him as he did not give up even when people looked down on him and thought that he could not achieve anything much as he had the appearance of a frail-looking boy. But I believe that one should not judge a book by its cover. Mr. Kunalan proved this metaphor true by showing that even if he looked frail or was short, he still became the Singapore’s fastest runner record for 33 years straight. He is also very humble and doesn’t show off his skills. He is not as arrogant as some other athletes that always laugh in other athletes’ faces when they win. When asked if he was offended if someone is racist against him, he coolly replied, “No, if they want to insult other people, it’s their problem, we can’t just go right up to them and force them to stop. We should just ignore them and let them be.He is also very faithful to his religion and is very wise. He gives advice to anyone who asks him for advice. When he speaks, it is very empowering and makes people want to follow in his footsteps. Indeed, he is an inspiration to all, athlete or not.
