FOR A GOOD CAUSE-FLAG DAY 2014

On 15 February, all Secondary 4 and 5 students including some Red-Cross cadets went to different places near the North of Singapore to ask the public for donation. Early in the morning at 7.30 a.m., pupils gathered in the canteen. Afterwards, they received tin cans and flags in the classroom and were ready to set off. For my class, we were instructed to go to Woodlands Bus interchange. When we reach the interchange, we started to ask for donations.

However, as it was still early, there weren’t many people there. Soon, more people came and we began approaching them for more donations.

After my experience, here are some tips for the next batch of students:

1. Always be polite and no matter whether he or she has or has not donated, still thank them!

2. Don’t be shy and try to approach more people.

3. Also, try to pick up the stickers that have dropped on the ground, it would help the cleaners by not giving them more work to do.

All donations would be given to the Singapore Red Cross Society. It would definitely make a huge difference to help the needy. In the future, I would definitely donate whenever there is an opportunity to do so!
