Charity Bazaar 2014 1st August, 2014. The day that everyone had been anticipating for. The annual event, Charity Bazaar! The Charity Bazaar is set up each year in Evergreen Secondary School to support Children’s Charities Association. The stalls are tended by Secondary Two students and CCAs. The things they sell can range from air-fried nuggets, to loom bands! There are also games to play! The EVG Vibes Team went down early to check out the behind-the- scenes of the Charity Bazaar 2014: the preparations.

2 Commitment was busy getting ready their air-fryer and their ice-blended drinks. 2 Dynamic was preparing their tacos, and had a menu put up: Chicken Cheese Taco, Egg with

Mayonnaise Taco and Root Beer Floats! There were also teachers patronizing their stalls, and showing them their heartfelt support. 2 Caring was selling fruit juice, which was definitely a right choice! It was hot that day, so refreshing fruit juice would definitely appeal to the customers. The classes also wore class tees to show their unity. There were various interesting designs on them, ranging from 2 Integrity’s “Expect the Unexpected” catchphrase, to 2 Respect’s Instagram-like Class Tee! The Evergreen Parent Support Group was there as well, selling delicious finger food, such as Seaweed Chicken, Nuggets, and many more!

At 10:05am, the Lower Secondary recess time, the crowd started coming in. People were chattering excitedly, pointing at the food and telling their friends what they wanted to try. It seemed like the whole canteen was buzzing with excitement, especially for the Secondary One students, as it was their first time. With their first batch of customers coming, the classes

started to get ready. 2 Integrity was busy getting their chocolate fondue and nacho cheese that they advertised ready, carefully pouring the cheese on to the crisp nachos. I tried their Chocolate Fondue as well, and the combination of chocolate and marshmallows were heaven to me. Warm and chewy… Kudos to them for a job well done!

Here’s 2 Respect getting their drinks ready! They were carefully mixing the right amount of milk tea and drinks, totally focused! I tried out their Honey Milk Tea and it was really nice! This is a recommendation to people who like Milk Tea! On the other hand, some classes and CCAs sent out a representative to help advertise their stalls for them in a creative way! At

about 10.40am, another batch of students were released, and the customers kept flooding in! Now, let’s move on to games shall we? There were many games to choose from! There were lucky draws, softball games, Card Ninja, Running Man, Minute to Win it!, Wii Games! The Gamelan Game Store: “Minute to Win It!” attracted quite a lot of people, as “Minute to Win

it!” was a well-known TV show, so students were excited to have a go at the game that they had watched on the TV before. Another store also had Running Man! They had tear-able name tags, similar to the show!

In a nutshell, this year’s Charity Bazaar was a blast and had many interesting games and food! I really think the Secondary Two Students and the CCAs did a fantastic job helping to raise funds for charity, and they really tried their best!
