A VICTORIOUS ROUND FOR THE DEBATERS

Once again, it is the exciting debate season for the ELDDS debate team. This year, the team would be raring to make a mark for Evergreen Secondary School on the map of the Singapore Secondary School Debate Championships (SSSDC) 2015 by emerging as the champions. Hence it was a sweet victory that the debate team was unanimously awarded as the winning team at the first preliminary round.
On 6 February 2015, the EVG debate team, namely Luke Tan, Stella Lee, Nur Sabrina, Dean Chua and Hayden Yeo, went for the first Preliminary Debate Round at St. Andrew’s Secondary School. They, as the opposition, went against Siglap Secondary School on the motion ‘This house would require companies to pay their interns’. The atmosphere was intense and thrilling, watching the speakers argue their points and exchange a battle of words.Indeed, it was a sweet taste of victory when the team won 3-0 with the best speaker being Nur Sabrina Bte Zainuddin, the 3rd opposition speaker.
Congratulations to the team and wishing them all the best for the next preliminary round of debate at CHIJ St Theresa’s Convent on 27 February 2015. May the victory be ours!
