Lack of bonding: It affects the family relationships as children are constantly on their screens, and parents can be equally guilty of contributing to the distance between the families. Parents are often on their screens too, not connecting with their children.

Lack of socialisation skills: When you are seldom around people, in a way you lose the ability to read body language and as such, may not interpret what other people are saying effectively.

Lack of personal touch: Interaction between people becomes very mechanical. When we interact with people face to face, sometimes our sincerity can be felt better. In a way, it is an additional personal touch for the person on the receiving end.

Misinterpretation: Unable to tell tone from web messaging platforms or emails, may lead to wrong interpretation of tones, wrong interpretations of intentions.

Cocooning: When frequent conversations through social media replace traditional communication methods, people feel that they do not even need to leave the house to communicate with others. Hence too much online interactions would lead to social isolation instead of socialising with other people.
