This workshop was held for people in ELDDS, Infocomm Club and Library Club. Everyone
was given books that centred on the theme: ‘Tenacity’. The workshop took place on 9th
February and the 16th February 2015.
My group and I were able to settle on the story outline by the end of the first session based on
the book called Grasshoppers. We went through a training session where we were thought on
how to make project from the beginning to the end. Our instructor had taught us how to edit
clips on Windows Movie Maker. We were also learnt about the different types of cinematic
shots and how we could utilise them effectively.
On the second session, we planned out how to film our trailer. We came up with a filming
schedule, the shot list and the role allocation. After everything was settled, we went to seek
advice from our instructor. He had told us the points that could be improved but said that our
trailer would be an interesting one.
During our CCA hours, we had the time to film our trailer. Everyone in the group were
allocated roles to play, behind the scenes, there were producers and a director to ensure that
the filming would go smoothly. When we finished filming, our director, Zoey, had requested
all of us to attend the extra session to finish the editing, putting a group of us in charge of it.
In the end, our trailer was submitted on time thanks to the hard work put in by the whole
team. Through this, I have learnt to be cooperative in a group. If it wasn’t for the team
working together the trailer never would have come through. Last but not least, teamwork
was a big part of this, because without it we would not have been able to even produce
anything.
