Singapore Food Festival 2017

Are you a foodie? Then, maybe it’s time to eat away at the Singapore Food Festival! Held on the 14th to 30th July, you can indulge in unique Singaporean food. From hawker food to classics, they form a rich tapestry of diverse cultures. You’ll find them all at the Singapore Food Festival 2017! Needless to say, we do have a great appetite for the various cuisines in our country so, at the festival, you will get to experience amazing choices of food-inspired works of art, films and stories.


Lasting till the very last day of July, is the ION Orchard Culinary Creations 2017! This event comprises of 3 fun-filled segments. On the 14, 15 and 16 July, there are 3 different awesome activities you can take part in which include a cook-off, workshop and tour at Chocolate Wonderland! If you don’t enjoy any of the above, don’t worry, read on! You could also soak in Singapore’s Peranakan (Straits Chinese) heritage at the Singapore Cultural Experience from 11th to 19th July!



Not enough to satisfy you? There’s more! Sample kueh (bite-sized snacks) from one of Singapore’s most iconic brands, Bengawan Solo, when you join the ION Orchard Food and Heritage Trail! This lasts until 31st July. You can work off the calories by indulging in retail therapy at the mall, which is home to both luxury labels and high street brands! Wow, who could resist that?


Ever wondered how the ever-so-delicious kueh is made? You get to not only finally know how it’s made, but even have a hands-on experience on making it! Organised by the Rainbow Lapis on the 15th, 22nd and 23rd of July, is a Kueh Pairing Workshop Series! What’s kueh without any beverage? Learn to pair your favourite kueh with artisanal tea at Tea Chapter at a price of 80 dollars. If you don’t like tea as much as coffee, you can still learn how to do so with coffee at Kaldi’s Berry at the same price.


Love Arts? Project Plait: Inheritance is happening from the 20th to 22nd July at the Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay! To experience more contemporary dance in Singapore, you can head down to Jiakpalang Eating House while enjoying an enticing five-course meal.


If you’re the type to take pictures of your food at different angles before you indulge in it, you can learn how to transform your food images on the 23rd July! Held by Foodist x Morsels, this session lets you in on the secret to taking mouth-watering pictures of your food! Participate in the hands-on session where you’ll learn how to style your food, plate and take frabjous photos. Hey, if it’s for the Instagram!


Love you a cuppa? On the 22nd and 23rd of July, there will be a Singapore Tea Festival held by 1872 Clipper Tea Co. Among the wonderful 25 brands of tea, are Pin Tea and Hush Tea. Time for some tea appreciation! Travel back in time and get a taste of old school snacks and toys! Ever wondered what your parents had played when they were your age? Try out various old school games!


Head on down to The 50 Cents Fest on the 29th to 30th July at Chinatown, where everything is sold at a mere 50 cents! You can expect Hokkien rickshaw noodles, good old ice balls and Cantonese paper-wrapped chicken!


Don’t hesitate, it’s not too late to head down to this dreamy festival today! Get yourself steamy cups of tea or coffee paired with your one and only favourite kueh, or enjoy a contemporary dance performance while tucking into a filling five-course meal!
